The first two-color integrated concrete retaining wall has been poured on the Jones-Maltsberger streetscape expansion project. Its about 3 feet high and 200 feet long.

I have received a private art commission along the San Gabriel River in Georgetown, Texas. The piece, titled “From There and From There to Here,” is an outdoor public painting spanning about 450 feet in length with a height ranging from 2 to 8 feet, and will include painted concrete walls, walkways, and a concrete area which will glow at night in a landscape created by Mark Word Design of Austin, Texas. The piece is part of the River Place development project, the first phase of which includes a newly constructed restaurant designed by Overland Partners of San Antonio, Texas, and is ultimately intended as a multi-use business and shopping area incorporated into historic downtown Georgetown. My work on the project will begin in January 2012.

A two-color integrated concrete wall that I designed has been poured. It will be the base for the Mudd Creek Park sign on the Jones-Maltsberger streetscape expansion project.

Concrete sidewalks have begun to be poured on the Jones-Maltsberger streetscape expansion project. Module designs are being tooled into the concrete. When cured, the modules will be painted.

Visited the factory where the sections for one of the Jones-Maltsberger retaining walls were being poured. The pattern was custom designed, and will face a new children’s playground. It was wonderful to see this sample, the first of the 1.2 mile streetscape to exist in the real world.

The opening for the Mission Reach Ecosystem Restoration and Recreation Project of the San Antonio River is scheduled for this Saturday, June 25. My bridge, Up on the On, is part of this project.
