Visited the factory where the sections for one of the Jones-Maltsberger retaining walls were being poured. The pattern was custom designed, and will face a new children’s playground. It was wonderful to see this sample, the first of the 1.2 mile streetscape to exist in the real world.

The opening for the Mission Reach Ecosystem Restoration and Recreation Project of the San Antonio River is scheduled for this Saturday, June 25. My bridge, Up on the On, is part of this project.

On March 6, 2011, I will give a lecture at the Menil Collection in Houston. As part of The Artist’s Eye series, I will speak about Barnett Newman’s painting BE I, which will be exhibited for the first time since 1958.

I have finished painting the river rock shoulders and concrete sidewalk of a new Pedestrian Bridge. I titled it Up on the On. This was commissioned by the San Antonio River Foundation as part of the Mission Reach Ecosystem Restoration and Recreation Project of the San Antonio River.
